Celebrate Danish Folk Culture with Music & Dance Workshops in Toronto!
Join us for a day of vibrant Danish folk music and dance with two of Denmark’s finest cultural ambassadors — Henrik Larsen and Kristian Bugge — on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Danish Lutheran Church and Cultural Centre, 72 Finch Ave W, North York, ON.
Whether you're a musician, a dancer, or simply curious about traditional Danish culture, this is a rare chance to learn from the best and experience the joy of folkelig community.
Workshop & Event Schedule:
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Folk Music Workshop with master fiddler Kristian Bugge
- 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Folk Dance Workshop with acclaimed dance teacher Henrik Larsen and Kristian
- 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Evening Concert & Dance ("Legestue") for all — dancers, musicians, and enthusiasts welcome!
Admission:
- $10 per workshop/concert
- $25 for the full day (all 3 events)

About the Artists:
Henrik Larsen is a full-time Danish folk dance educator, recognized for his dedication to preserving and innovating within Denmark’s rich dance traditions. He has received multiple awards for his educational work and outreach.
Kristian Bugge is one of Denmark’s most celebrated folk fiddlers, known for his deep knowledge of regional styles and multiple Danish Music Awards, including Folk Artist of the Year and the 2024 Tradition Award with Gangspil.
